Re: Getting two VMs to communicate

Looks like I have more problems than I thought.  Hopefully more details will help.  First of all my DHCP server isnt authorizing, and the option to authorize it does not exist in the action menu.  So I am not going to use the Server 2008  DHCP for now until i can figure that out.

For now all I would like to do get the correct setup on the VMs so they will work together once I can figure out Server 2008.

So I have both the Server 2008 and windows 7 VM set to NAT

Server 2008 has a static IP of 192.168.1.2 which is the same as the DNS.

Windows 7 has dynamic IP.

Do I leave the VMware Network adaptor settings as they are from my host machine?  It has IP of 192.168.227.X.  Does this mean my Server 2008 static IP has to be 192.168.227.X?
