... actually i'm planning to give people a free trial on my site after the beta, but the business model is a bit tricky, since I'm effectively buying the infrastructure from other people. I have some ideas tho.
Back to the topic: with both Oracle VirtualBox and Citrix/Xen Server going 100% open-source, I believe VMware has to do more in this space. I understand for a firm like VMware though that t's tough when you're whole business in this field though, and unlike the others you can't just cross subsidise a free VM suite by selling unrelated products in other businesses.
