Thanks a ton for including the installer database. I've attached that to a bug which is tracking this internally.
In order to get you back into working order with TP2, here are some things to try:
1. Uninstall Workstation explicitly (sudo vmware-installer -u vmware-workstation), then launch your bundle.
2. If the (un)installer still hangs, we'll bring out the sledgehammer:
· Move /etc/vmware-installer out of place (sudo mv /etc/vmware-installer{,.bak}).
· Move /usr/lib/vmware out of place (well, can probably just delete this, since settings and such aren't stored here).
· Make a backup copy of /etc/vmware (tar -cf ~/vmware-config.tar -C /etc vmware), just in case. It should be fine to just leave this here.
· Now go ahead and invoke the TP2 installer.
As for the GTK errors re: canberra-gtk-module, they're innocuous. You may ignore them.
